CHAP deadline extended to November
|
Council has negotiated an extension of time to finalise its Coastal Hazards Adaptation Plan (CHAP) until November this year.
CEO Brett de Chastel said the extension would allow more time to consult with the community on concerns they have raised with the CHAP.
Noosa Mayor Clare Stewart is pleased to have secured the additional time.
“We were given until late May, but the November date now allows us to continue to further consult the community to explore workable solutions,” she said.
“It’s important to clarify that this plan will act as a guide to Council’s response to coastal erosion risks in the shire.
“The CHAP will not specify how individual properties can and can’t be developed.” Read more.

Tell us how we're doing

We’re conducting our Community Satisfaction Survey in early May. An independent company - Market Facts Qld Pty Ltd - will undertake the survey, which involves interviews of 400 randomly selected Noosa residents.
Residents’ participation helps us identify which of Council’s services need to be improved, and to enable us to compare Council’s performance with other Queensland councils. This year, the survey will also be available online via Council’s website in May.

Seeking local law feedback
|
Have a say on the proposed local law to manage short-stay letting and home-hosted accommodation in Noosa Shire, by May 14.
The state government deferred its plans for a state-wide framework to manage short-stay letting, but the impacts of short-stay letting on residential amenity continue to be an issue for some in the Noosa community.
Council is progressing the introduction of the new local law to deal with the issues at a local level. Visit Council’s YourSay Noosa website to comment, by May 14.
